Marty and Terry

In the summer of 2021 friends gathered on Saturday mornings at Marty and Terry's home to plant, tend, harvest, and preserve their homestead's bounty.  Wonderful fresh produce was enjoyed by volunteers, family, and visitors to the Charlotte Food Shelf.  Three local families are excited to share and tend the garden spaces in 2022.

Marty was a founding co-creator of Lewis Creek Association, and devoted to sharing her love of the creek, its beauty, the woods, flowers, animals and magic by bringing everyone to the table. LCA has established a fund in Marty and Terry’s honor, to continue their legacy of conservation. Donations can be made to it by selecting it in the Designation dropdown on the Donate page.

Terry was a stonemason who donated his limestone quarry in Essex, New York to Champlain Area Trails in 2020 to create the Essex Quarry Nature Park. The Peace and Justice Center was an important nonprofit to Terry and Marty. Support their work to create a just and peaceful world.
